We Invest in Physical Products & People
Run Group invests in early-stage companies built around physical products. We are not a traditional fund. We do not write a cheque and disappear. When we invest in a company, we get involved — and we stay involved until the product is real.
Since 2010 we have helped businesses across a wide range of industries bring physical products from concept to market. We know the supply chain. We know the manufacturing process. We know what it takes to go from an idea on paper to a product with safety certifications in your customer's hands. That knowledge is what we bring to the table when we invest.
What Our Investment Looks Like
When Run Group believes in a product and sees a fit with our portfolio, we offer something most investors cannot: we put our team to work.
Instead of requiring you to pay for all 6 phases of the product development process upfront, we take the cost of our time and expertise as part of our investment. Our team will spend weeks working alongside you — on design, supply chain setup, prototyping, certification coordination, and production readiness — so that you arrive at a finished product without carrying the full financial burden of getting there alone.
We share the risk. That is the point. We only do this when we genuinely believe in what you are building.
The process depends on you, your team, and the product itself. No two investments are the same. But our commitment is always the same: we are with you from concept to finished product, and we do not let go until the result is something we are both proud of.
Our Investment Principles
We typically do not take more than 10% equity in any company we invest in. This is a deliberate choice. We want you to remain in control of your company and retain the flexibility to bring in further investors on your own terms. Our stake is a signal of belief, not a claim on your future.
We invest by knowing there is risk. We do not expect certainty — we expect potential. What we look for is a clear product idea, a founder who understands their market, and a realistic path to the first sale.
We are not interested in rushing you. We are interested in building something that lasts.
What we look for
A physical product with a real use case and a defined target customer. A founder or team with conviction and the willingness to move. A product that could logically sit within or complement our existing portfolio of lighting and manufactured goods. An idea that has not been done exactly this way before, or that can be done significantly better.
If you have a patent, we will work with you to make sure the product design and supply chain specifications protect it. If you are not sure whether your concept conflicts with existing intellectual property, we will flag any concerns we identify — though the legal responsibility always rests with you.
